Hello.
My name is Daphne, and I´m glad you have found your way here. I am Filipina (born and raised in the Philippines) and currently living and working in Madrid. I am an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Teacher by profession but I´ve also been a radio show host, events emcee, and a Moroccan Restaurant Manager among other things. I moved to the Spanish capital for love in August 2010. No regrets in taking the leap to be with B.
This blog is about my daily life -- ups and downs, travels, cooking adventures, photography, fashion, beauty, music, lessons learned and changes. It will be dotted with photos taken by myself or B and of course a few borrowed images from favorite websites.

The LOVE story.
B and I officially met in the Philippines on August 26, 2007 on the way to a party organized by common friends. Two nights before on a Friday I went to an open-air bar /restaurant where B was DJ-ing and I unwittingly hit the wires of the turntable and messed up the sound. Our only interaction that night was B telling me very nicely to move my elbow please. I apologized and left with a friend for a pool party.
On the way to the sunset party we didn´t speak much in the van but once we arrived at the venue and B heard me talking to Wish about how I was still living with my ex-bf (we had broken up on the day I hit B´s wires) he joined the conversation and we just didn´t stop talking for the rest of the party. The conversation moved on from my sappy story to movies, work, music, and I even told him that I was the girl who had hit the wires while he was playing. We had a laugh about it and up until now the ability to laugh together is something we have.
When I got home I sent both B and Wish an SMS and I thanked them for making my day. B responded and repeated his generous offer of having me over for movie night. One particularly difficult day of arguing with my ex-bf and I called up B and took him up on his offer. We never watched a movie that night but spent all of the time talking and talking. To cut a long story short, we became fast and extremely good friends.
We didn´t officially start dating until December 2008 after he came back to the Philippines to surprise me and we spent the Christmas holidays together. Fast forward to 2 more farewells at airports and we came to the decision that one of us had to uproot so we could be together. We were very serious about our relationship and genuinely loved each other and the goodbyes were literally killing us both inside.
I landed in Madrid at past 10pm on the same day we officially met 3 years before. It was one of the many best days and nights yet to come. It has been an exciting roller coaster ride and I now more than ever we both know that we want to be together for the rest of our lives.
